I’m 32 years old, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. 2nd born of Korean Immigrants, work in IT as a platform engineer for a successful website.
The blog’s purpose was originally just for fun, A bunch of had 2stroke Ruckus motor swaps so we formed a little crew. After my bike the cover of MotoChamp (a popular Japanese scooter magazine) I decided to put more effort into the blog by feeding more content and reaching out to the locals who are down with what we call “THE SCENE”.
I’m sure you are wondering why Kiwi2? Well, there is a Japanese race crew called Kiri2 and those bikes were the sickest Ruckus a few years ago. I basically copied them and called ourselves Kiwi. It was kind of like an inside joke but it just stuck. I think now our “official” origin is that like a kiwi, when you see us rolling, we leave a sour taste in your mouth.

We sat down to ask Them Jeans to give us a little insight on what makes him, him. We expected the unexpected and we weren’t disappointed. This guy is definitely one-of-a-kind. He’s been making a name for himself night after night in the now infamous Cinespace in Los Feliz. Them Jeans has become an icon in the LA music scene and definitely lives the life we all want.

Where do you feel most creative?
In the car tapping away on my steering wheel, god forbid it happens to me with any type of recording device around.
Explain your creative process.
I try not to force things too much. I wait until a solid idea pops up and run with it from there. This not only goes for musical stuff, but also with graphic design work, and even in the kitchen.
What gets you up in the morning?
Two cups of black coffee and a blueberry smoothie. If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? Hopefully cooking, or opening restaurants.

Things slow down a bit during the holidays, but planning trips to Miami for Art Basel, and a New York vacation soon.
What do you want to be known for?
Not being too serious.
Are you working on any new projects?
I’d like to have a new record done by the end of the year, and get my tennis serve halfway decent.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I grow up I’d like to have enough “fuck you” money to justify all my bad tattoos.
Brunettes, Blondes or Redheads?
I like ‘em all, but my lady’s a brunette, so let’s go with that.
What was your best night out?
Any night that ends at Del Taco.
